The Sac County Board of Supervisors met in regular session with all members present, Mike
Fischer, Chairman, presiding. The minutes of the last meeting were approved as submitted.
It was moved by Wissler and seconded by Drake to approve the agenda as posted. Ayes all,
motion carried.
The Board met with the Sac County Treasurer to discuss the recent tax sale and certain tax
abatements.
It was moved by Wissler and seconded by Drake to approve the Drainage District Engineer's
contract for fiscal year 24/25, calling for an annual salary of $114,700, which is split three ways with
Buena Vista, Calhoun, and Sac Counties. Ayes all, motion carried.
It was moved by Drake and seconded by Wissler to approve application for renewal of a
liquor license submitted by Prairie Pedlar Celebrations, LLC. Ayes all, motion carried.
It was moved by Wissler and seconded by Drake to renew a contract with Secure Shred
Solutions from Carroll to provide on-site shredding services and noted an increase of $2.00 for all
variations of the service. Ayes all, motion carried.
It was moved by Wissler and seconded by Drake to abate the taxes on Lot 24, K&W Mobile
Home Estates in the amount of $1,010.00 and direct the Treasurer to begin the assignment
procedure to Letitia Hightower. Ayes all, motion carried.
The County Engineer updated the Board on activities of the county road crews and the
status of current maintenance and construction projects.
It was moved by Drake and seconded by Wissler to approve the plans and specifications for
project STP-S-CO81 (84)-5E-81, a Portland cement concrete reconstruction on County Road N28
which will be a shared project with Calhoun County. Ayes all, motion carried.
It was moved by Drake and seconded by Wissler to approve a proposed tile outlet repair on
DD 81 located in Section 36, Douglas Township in the amount of $700.00. Ayes all, motion carried.
At 10:30, the Chairman opened the public hearing on a proposed amendment to the
County's Wind Turbine Ordinance. There was no one present to support or oppose the proposed
amendment.
It was moved by Drake and seconded by Wissler to close the public hearing. Ayes all,
motion carried.
It was moved by Wissler and seconded by Drake to waive the second and third hearings on
the proposed amendment and approve the amendment to Ordinance 6.14.045A. ayes all, motion
carried.
Dawn Mentzer, Executive Director of Rolling Hills, updated the Board on that agency and the
pending changes in providing services.
It was moved by Wissler and seconded by Drake to approve the claims as listed on the
claims register in the Auditor's office. Ayes all, motion carried.
With there being no further business, on motion, the meeting was adjourned.
